December 8, 2025 marks the fourteenth anniversary of the entry into force of the Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement between Uruguay and Korea, which was signed on October 1, 2009.
The purpose of this agreement is to create favorable conditions for investments between the two countries, based on equality and mutually beneficial activities. Uruguay and Korea have recognized that the agreement will help stimulate individual business initiatives and increase the prosperity of both States.
According to data from Uruguay XXI, the main Korean investments in Uruguay are in the sectors of processing and preservation of fish, crustaceans, and mollusks, as well as the repair of electronic equipment.
