It is a meeting point to promote knowledge and opportunities for growth and development between Latin America and Asia Pacific, through strategic and sustainable cooperation.
This agreement entered into force on November 26, 2024, and includes an information – exchange clause between the competent authorities of the Contracting States.
The organization notes that, despite the decline in foreign investment, opportunities are emerging to redirect trade and strengthen ties with extraregional partners such as China and the European Union.
Uruguay was accepted on November 21, 2025, into the Asia-Pacific economic treaty, which represents 15% of the world’s GDP and offers broad trade benefits.
