Since its implementation in 2009, this tariff instrument shared by Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay has been key to diversifying the block’s export destinations and strengthening trade with one of the most dynamic economies in the Asia-Pacific.
Following an official mission led by President Santiago Peña to Taiwan and the Philippines, Paraguay strengthens its international presence through agreements in cybersecurity, data infrastructure, and trade facilitation, while boosting the access of Paraguayan animal protein to new Asian markets.
Organized by SELA and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), this forum will take place in Zhengzhou, China, on August 17 and 18, 2026. The event aims to enhance economic connectivity and foster shared prosperity through high-level strategic dialogue.
