After years of negotiations, the Government of Argentine President Alberto Fernández agreed on the phytosanitary requirements for the export of fresh lemons to the People’s Republic of China. The first cargo arrived at the Port of Hong Kong on August 7 with a total of 48 tons exported by the Citromax and San Miguel companies. The companies Argenti Lemon and Diego Zamora e Hijo will also participate in this first export campaign, to a total of 476 tons from the Province of Tucumán.

Between 2023 and 2025, exports from ALADI member countries to the Asia-Pacific continued to be primarily supported by minerals, oilseeds, and fuels, reaffirming the region’s strategic role as a global provider of basic resources and food.
