More than 100 appointments were confirmed for the business conference between Bolivia and India. The presence of at least 40 entrepreneurs of New Delhi was announced for the exchange with 150 Bolivians in the installation of the chamber of industry, commerce, service and Santa Cruz tourism. Moreover, it was specified that the representatives of those sectors such as mining and pharmaceutical industry confirmed their presence in the business conference.
The Foreign Minister of Uruguay highlighted the importance of trade relations with China
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uruguay, Rodolfo Nin Novoa, highlighted the importance of the trade relations between Uruguay and China, a country that is the main trade partner within the framework of the visit of the Vice-Premier of China, Hu Chunhua, to Uruguay. He considered that this kind of instance is fundamental to deepen the relations between both countries. On trade matters, he stated that apart from working on trade agreements and tariff reductions, there is a need to conclude agreements on phytosanitary matters that are fundamental in order to assure the market access.
Prime Minister of India will visit Bolivia, and will hold a meeting with President Morales
Nath Kovind, Prime Minister of India, will hold a meeting with President Evo Morales, on Friday, 29 March. According to President Morales, the visit is expected to be favorable for the signing of agreements related to sundry areas. Regarding energy, India expressed its will to buy Liquefied Natural Gas from Bolivia. Bolivia also wants to expand the market towards other continents.
Next Chinese market opening to the bovine meat
The Bolivian Government asked Chine for accreditation of the conditions and quality of the Bolivian meat industry, as the previous step to obtain the authorization for the Bolivian bovine meat, with the foot-and-mouth disease free status since 2014, to enter the Chinese market. In this regard, the Chinese Embassy in Bolivia announced that in April of this year a Chinese delegation will come in order to verify the production conditions.
Uruguay was presented in Japan as an investment destination and food supplier
Uruguayan companies participated in the food fair that took place in Japan. Uruguay and Japan signed a cooperation memorandum to promote the trade amount. Through this food fair, Uruguay is expected to export more meat to Japan while Japan promised to strengthen investment and legal security.
Chile consolidates its position as the main exporter of fresh fruits to China
According to the data of the Customs of the Asian country, Chile is the main exporter of fresh fruits to China in 2018. During the 2017-2018 season, Chile exported a total of more than 385,000 tons of fresh fruits to China. More than 40% of the fresh fruits exported from Chile to China were cherries.
