Within the framework of the Conference: MERCOSUR countries and their relation with Asian markets: strategies for the global integration, held on 12 November 2024, organized by UCU Business School, Department of Economy of FCS-UDELAR, and Programa Pharos de la ACADECO, Flavia Rovira (CINVE – Uruguay), with an approach based on gravitational and dynamic models, compared the integration alternatives of the MERCOSUR in agreements such as the CPTPP, an agreement with China or a prospective agreement with the European Union. Her analysis revealed that Uruguay, by negotiating within the bloc, maximizes its economic and welfare benefits. She also highlighted the CPTPP as the most advantageous for Uruguay as regards consumption capacity and commercial dynamism.
