Xi Jinping appreciated Alves heading the delegation of the leaders of major parties of Brazil’s Chamber of Deputies to visit China on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the establishment of China-Brazil diplomatic relationship.
He asked Alves to convey his sincere greetings and best wishes to President Dilma Rousseff.
Xi Jinping said, in recent years, China-Brazil relations have enjoyed a sustained and in-depth development, with the cooperation going more substantial.
The two peoples have truly enjoyed the tangible benefits.
The China-Brazil relations have gone beyond the bilateral scope and are of increasingly strategic and global significance.
I am satisfied with the good momentum of the comprehensive and rapid development of the current China-Brazil relations, and have full confidence in the future of the China-Brazil relations.
Xi Jinping stressed that China and Brazil should boost mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, with innovative thinking in accordance with respective development strategies, to set China-Brazil cooperation as an example of equality, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation among emerging markets.
Meanwhile, the two countries should increase exchanges between governments, legislative bodies, and political parties as well as people-to-people and cultural exchanges, expand personnel exchanges, and enhance mutual understanding, so as to promote the bilateral relations for new highs from the new historical starting point.
Alves spoke highly the development achievements of China and the important efforts China has made to realize the Chinese Dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
He praised that the idea of the Chinese Dream has won a round of applause in the whole world.
He said that it is the common belief of all the people, though belongs to different social strata and different circles of the society in Brazil, to develop friendly relationship with China.
The Chamber of Deputies of Brazil is willing to maintain closer exchanges with the National People’s Congress (NPC) of China, and to actively promote in-depth development of bilateral cooperation in various fields.
Alves said that Brazil warmly welcomes and looks forward to President Xi’s visit to Brazil as well as his attendance at the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) Leaders Meeting.
He believed that the visit will certainly inject strong impetus into the development of Brazil-China relations.
