FEALAC, launched in 1999 to promote mutual understanding and cooperation between East Asia and Latin America, is composed of 36 member states – 16 East Asian and 20 Latin American countries.
It is the only consultative mechanism between the two regions, and is one of the three largest inter-regional consultative mechanisms that involve the East Asia region along with APEC and ASEM.
Esta nueva edición del foro se llevará a cabo en China, los días 17 y 18 de agosto de 2026, organizado por Sistema Económico Latinoamericano y del Caribe (SELA) y la Academia China de Ciencias Sociales.
Los instrumentos jurídicos con ambas naciones brindan mayor seguridad a los inversionistas y fomentan nuevos proyectos en sectores estratégicos desde hace 24 y 9 años, respectivamente.
Al cumplirse más de dos décadas del acuerdo, el comercio bilateral cerró el 2025 con un intercambio total de USD 6.801 millones.
