Peru and Australia mark the 6th anniversary of the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement(FTA)

On February 11, 2026, Peru and Australia mark six years since the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement(FTA), which was signed on February 12, 2018.

The agreement applies a comprehensive approach, as it includes not only disciplines related to trade in goods, but also provisions on investments, trade in services, electronic commerce, intellectual property and the environment, among other areas.

Regarding bilateral trade between Peru and Australia, Peruvian exports to Australia are mainly concentrated in primary products, such as animal and vegetable fats and oils, metallic minerals, and residues and waste from the food industries. In turn, imports from Australia consist mainly of industrial goods, including inorganic chemical products and machinery, including reactors, boilers and mechanical appliances.
