The technological transformations caused changes in the mode of operation of all the enterprises around the world. For this reason, such research aims at analyzing how these changes were included in the SMEs in Latin America due to their relevance as engines for the economic, social, and cultural development of the region, particularly in Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, and Uruguay. This work presents the main results of the surveys applied to a sample of 480 SMEs, constituted by 96 of each country, divided in two economic areas within the primary industrial (including agricultural), commercial (wholesale and retail) and services sectors.
