On November 19, 2025, the Korean Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the CABEI representative office in Seoul.
According to KOTRA, there is a growing investment demand in Latin America in sectors such as infrastructure, renewable energy, and several areas of the manufacturing industry. In this context, CABEI, with its focus on the Central American region, aims to facilitate development and economic integration.
This agreement between KOTRA and CABEI opens various opportunities, including: facilitating the participation of Korean companies in CABEI projects; training and exchange of experiences through joint seminars and meetings; and cooperation to identify Korean companies in the sectors of decarbonization, water resource management, and waste treatment, leveraging KOTRA’s network.
This is considered as an opportunity to strengthen the connection between Korea’s networks and those of the Central American region, and particularly to promote Central America’s economic development and integration.
