On Thursday, October 1, President Yamandú Orsi announced via his X account that “Indonesia has granted market access for Uruguayan citrus fruits, soybeans, and wheat intended for human consumption.” The President noted that the Indonesian authorities’ decision will help to strengthen Uruguay’s international integration and diversify its export markets.
The latest data from the Uruguay XXI Information Center show that Indonesia has a population of more than 254 million and that its per capita gross domestic product (GDP) stands at USD 4,925.
According to Trade Map, in 2025 Uruguay’s total exports of goods to Indonesia reached USD19 million, while the main export was soybeans, including cracked soybeans, valued at USD 8.8 million.
