Uruguay and China celebrate 26 years since the entry into force of the Agreement on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments

On December 1, 2025, Uruguay and China celebrate the twenty-sixth anniversary of the entry into force of the Agreement on the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments. The agreement seeks to stimulate the entrepreneurial initiatives of investors in ways that will increase prosperity in both countries, as well as to strengthen economic cooperation based on equality and mutual benefits.

According to Uruguay XXI, China’s investments in Uruguay are found in the vehicle manufacturing and marketing sector, maritime transport, and infrastructure, among others.
