The president of Chile visits South Korea during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit

On October 31, 2025, the President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, held a bilateral summit with the President of South Korea, Jaemyeong Lee, on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit. During the meeting, the leaders of both countries emphasized that Chile and South Korea share a similar historical background and continued discussions on the gradual expansion of the currently valid Free Trade Agreement (FTA).

In addition, during the summit, the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) and the Chilean government agencies ProChile and InvestChile signed a new agreement to broaden commercial cooperation opportunities between companies from both countries.
