In 2025, the Convention for the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion, which was signed between Ecuador and the Republic of Korea, celebrates its 12th anniversary.
This agreement was signed on October 8, 2012, in Quito, between the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Ecuador, Jeong In-gyun, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ecuador, Ricardo Patiño Aroca, and entered into force on October 16, 2013. At that time, the Ecuadorian authorities underscored the importance of this legal framework as a key instrument for facilitating the establishment of Korean investments in the technological, industrial, and agricultural sectors.
