In mid-February 2026, the president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva began a presidential visit to India and South Korea.
In New Delhi, the president participated in a summit focused on the impact of artificial intelligence on economic and technological development. The agenda also included a state visit with high-level meetings and an official lunch with India’s top authorities.
As a result of the meetings, both parties signed strategic agreements related to rare earths and critical minerals—key inputs for the energy transition and technology industry—as well as commitments to expand tariff preferences in bilateral trade.
The visit reaffirmed Brazil and India’s interest in deepening cooperation in high value-added sectors and diversifying their economic agenda.
