Argentina eliminates antidumping measures on Chinese aluminium products

On February 23, 2026, Argentina decided to eliminate 28% antidumping duty on imports of specific products from China.

This antidumping measure, effective from 2020, covered “aluminium foil, not backed, simply rolled” and aimed to protect domestic production against unfair trade practices.

The decision was adopted based on the evaluation carried out by the National Commission for Foreign Trade(CNCE, by its Spanish acronym), which concluded that it is unlikely that these imports without tariffs would cause material injury to the domestic industry under the current circumstances.

Meanwhile, company Aluar expressed its opposition to the lifting of the measure and requested its extension, analyzing that risks to the sector still exist.
