Meeting between Latin America and India towards the “Fourth Concentric Circle: cooperation among blocs within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic”

As part of the cycle of webinars planned for this month, the document to be presented in the webinar “Cooperation between Latin America and India: the case of the pharmaceutical industry and digital services”, on 22 September, is made available.

“Relations between Latin America and India have advanced slowly given the distance and timid rapprochement between the two geographical blocks. However, in the current pandemic context where cooperation ties are essential to solve this global problem, a new era of relations between the subcontinent and Latin America becomes urgent, one that is marked by the confluence of spaces and agreements to obtain mutual Benefits. This article aims to proposes moving towards that a new relationship called “Fourth Concentric Circle” (whose original idea is in the three “Concentric Circles”, a concept that has been developed by two former prime ministers of India: IK Gujral and Yashwant Sinha) idea formulated to integrate today both blocks in the field of trade, biotechnology (vaccines) and the service and manufacturing industry given the context of COVID-19 as an opportunity to bring both economic blocks closer together”
