India and Latin America: moving from transactional to permanent healthcare partners

India is one of the most important healthcare product suppliers in the world. During the 21th century, India exported to Latin America more pharmaceutical products than to China. In this article, Seshasayee points out that the twenty-five Indian companies with physical presence in Latin America could consolidate and deepen their presence in the region because Latin America has a less-regulated market than the United States and Europe and less competitive than Africa. Doing so would allow India to become a more permanent healthcare partner for the region.
