Internship Program

The Latin America - Asia Pacific Observatory invites young students and recent graduates to apply for its Internship Program.

Objectives of the Internship

Selected interns will actively participate in different activities within the framework of the Observatory, including:

  • Research and analysis: Search, analysis and synthesis of relevant economic and commercial information for the development of reports and comparative studies
  • Database management: Updating and maintenance of institutional and commercial databases of the Observatory’s website.
  • Production of Informative Material: creation of graphs, charts and reports using different tools.
  • Support in publications: Contribution to the drafting of newsletters, working papers and specialized publications.
  • Collaboration in the organization of events: Collaboration in the organization of seminars, conferences and workshops related to economic integration and interregional cooperation.

This internship is designed to strengthen the analytical, technical and professional skills of participants, preparing them for future roles in trade and international cooperation.

Profile of the Candidate

We are looking for:

  • Advanced students (3rd year or more) or recent graduates of careers such as Economics, International Relations, Foreign Trade or related from Latin American and Asia Pacific member countries.
  • Required languages: Spanish or Portuguese (both mandatory), English (valued)
  • Essential knowledge of Office tools, WordPress, Canva and other visualization tools at user level.
  • It will be especially valued if the educational institution or the country has a cooperation agreement with ALADI.

General Conditions

  • Duration: Internships will have a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 6 months.
  • Modality: face-to-face or virtual.
    • On-site: they will be held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of ALADI during the institution’s working hours. The ALADI General Secretariat will not be responsible for round-trip airfare for students who do not reside in the host country, lodging and living expenses and medical insurance.
    • Virtual: it will be carried out through the Virtual Training Center.
